This Viking wolf design comes from a remarkable Urnes style find from Finland. I have re-modelled it as my wolf pendant, but the original pattern was on a sword. In a very unusual grave in Suontaka, a wealthy woman was buried with two swords, one of them beautifully ornamented with 11th century Viking art. Small animals (wolves or dragons?) were cast in the bronze grip and I have copied this flowing pattern for my wolf pendant.
Women were not normally buried with weapons, so she must have been a very special person.
